A Child's View

I also came from Polikandi. My mother died in the tsunami, and I never had a father. I stay with my uncle and aunt here. I help my aunt take care of her kids, my cousin-sisters. I don’t have many friends here, so there’s not much to do. There are few children here to play with. I mostly just try to pass the time. I want to go to school and study. I liked my old school and I miss my classmates. Now I will be behind them in my studies. But there’s nothing I can do. No teachers come here, and there are no schools close by.
