Members of the House of Representatives are sending a letter to Secretary Clinton and Ambassador Rice this Monday, March 9th, urging them to support humanitarian aid and a political settlement for Tamils in Sri Lanka.

We need YOUR member to sign on and support this letter. Take 2 minutes to call your representative and ask them to sign on!

The call is very simple:
1) Find your representative by filling in your zip code here
2) Tell them your name and that you are a constituent, and that you are calling for PEARL (otherwise they may not connect you to a higher-level staffer)
3) Ask to speak to their Foreign Affairs Legislative Aide.
4) When you get the aide (or their voicemail), let them know your name, that you are a constituent with PEARL, and that you want their office to sign onto Congressman Jim Moran's Dear Colleague letter regarding Sri Lanka.
5) Every office received a copy of the letter yesterday (Wednesday) over email. Tell them the letter is to Secretary Hillary Clinton and Ambassador Susan Rice, encouraging them to work towards greater humanitarian aid for suffering Tamil civilians, and towards a lasting political resolution.
6) Ask them to sign on and support this letter!

That's it! If you can let us know afterward that you did it, we can follow up with your Representative and pressure them further regarding the constituent calls that we know they received. Please let us know you called on our website. Then we will update our tracker, to show you which state is acting as the most vocal state for Tamils.
