Starving for Peace

Meals Sacrificed

Thank you for making our fast a success!

Our fast ended after 19 days, achieving success far surpassing what we thought possible. Thanks to your efforts our story - and the the story of 300,000 Tamils suffering in Sri Lanka - has been told in the Boston Globe, the Houston Chronicle, and numerous other media outlets.

Our efforts also drew attention from the United States Government. One faster received a personal letter from Senator John Kerry, commending her on her efforts to call attention to Tamils suffering in Sri Lanka. The U.S. Senate convened a Foreign Relations Committee hearing on "Recent Developments in Sri Lanka" and a number of Congress members released statements expressing their concern for civilians in the conflict zones - all thanks to you.

This campaign has accomplished a lot, but our work is not done yet. Tamils in Sri Lanka are still being killed daily, by aerial bombardment and artillery shelling, as well as by abuse in government-controlled internment camps. We will continue our efforts -- and we will continue to depend on your support to achieve success. If the end of our fast is the end of your involvement then all of our efforts will go to waste.

Please visit our homepage to send our most recent Action Alert to U.S. officials and to stay involved with our efforts!

This is our chance to demand our U.S. government act as a voice for voiceless Tamils in Sri Lanka.
